Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Complete all aspects of sales and use tax, property tax and local licensing for clients including status updates to managers, timely filings, and payment submissions.
- Demonstrate understanding of the client's business including basis of sales, fixed assets to be reported, and potential audit risks.
- Identify and implement process improvements of the compliance function for sales and use tax as well as property tax.
- Complete assigned tasks within the time requested, explain variances when needed.
- Achieve charge hour goals.
- Assist associates with sales and use tax or property tax work; provide constructive review points.
- May supervise Associates on engagements.
- Train and mentor associate staff.
- May be involved in the client billing process by assisting Managers or Directors.
- Identify and begin to develop knowledge in audits or taxability research and advisement as they relate to sales and use tax or property tax.
- Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements.
- Execute administrative duties as assigned.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
- CPA candidates preferred.
- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
- Proficient use of applicable technology.
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $76,000-$98,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
